Patrons cherish the vibrant atmosphere. The cozy pub radiates warmth that invites you to relax and unwind. Many reviews highlight the excellent service, with friendly staff always ready to engage in a conversation. Drink prices draw everyone in; a pint of Guinness or a double spirit with mixer won't break the bank. The food presentation also receives rave reviews, especially comfort classics like egg and chips, macaroni cheese, and homity pie. The ability to park easily adds to the charm, making it accessible for casual dinings, such as lunch breaks or after work.

Most Disliked

Some guests mention the cash-only policy, which can be inconvenient for those unprepared. There’s also mention of limited operating hours for the Upper Deck, leaving some disappointed when they can’t dine there during popular hours. With the pub being a local favorite, it can get quite busy, particularly during dinner time on weekends and Thursdays, leading to potential wait times. A few reviews also note that public transport is limited, making it harder for some visitors to reach the venue.

Popped in here Good Friday before watching Concord Rangers. A lovely pub and everyone in there was very friendly and polite, barmaid was lovely. Got chatting to locals who were eating there, food looked fantastic. Egg and Chips looked lovely! we had Guinness, a lovely pint £4.40 will definitely return

What a nice pub, clean, friendly, and good food, not overpriced, cooked lovely, well served. I had macaroni cheese, salad and chips, not something I have eaten for years, or would normally choose, it was lush ! Sauce was cheesy, creamy, and toasty. Nice salad, coleslaw, and hot CHIPS ! Son tried the Homity Pie, and was well impressed. Again, salad, chips, and coleslaw. Visit was on a weekday lunchtime, sounds like it could get busy, when regulars are not on holiday ! Thanks !!

Never been to canvey went with my friend today, she goes here once a week. You go upstairs, lovely welcome from the lady at the bar, wasn’t busy, probably best to book as not a big area, ordered food cash only, omelette ,chips and salad presentation and fullness on the plate amazing tasted yummy nice and fresh, excellent value for money, well done Janice. Near the seawall great for an after lunch walk. Pleased we went here would go again 😊

Windjammer. The pub is quite olde worlde with wooden floors and dark wooden bar with lots of interesting niknaks. This isn't a bad thing, just more of an observation. Set out over two floors (only the Upper Deck is open between 11:00 -3:30pm. it serves a good selection of food until 2:15pm. The drinks are good quality and cheap. This is the cheapest place to get a pint of Coors without having to fork out a membership fee. Selected spirits are £2.90 for a double and a mixer. The car park has enough spaces for about 30 vehicles, and it is needed. The pub is situated on the seafront with very limited public transport. Both floors are strictly cash only. Very clean and attentive staff, its one of Canveys hidden gems.

Hi, unfortunately I didn’t order any food. However…the service and atmosphere is absolutely wonderful. The bar lady and man (tall big bloke) are so warm and friendly. Great pub. I feel as if I’m going back to the 80s. The layout is so 80s and guess what? I %ucking love the 80s. I need to visit more than what I do. From one stranger to another…thank you for making me feel so warm and relaxed.

Great local pub, homely and great atmosphere and locals. Prices of drinks bought so far are very reasonable. Love visiting this pub, even though we live 14 miles away 😀😀
